Luka Dončić (pronounced "LOO-kə DON-chitch") was born on February 28, 1999, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. From an early age, he exhibited exceptional basketball talent. In 2018, Dončić was selected third overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA draft. In his rookie season, he averaged 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game, earning All-Rookie Second Team honors.In the 2021-22 season, Dončić took another leap forward, averaging 28.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game. He led the Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals, where they narrowly lost to the eventual NBA champion Golden State Warriors. Dončić's outstanding performance earned him his first NBA All-Star selection and a spot on the All-NBA First Team.
