Mitch Haniger: A Rising Star in the MLB

Early Life and Career

Mitch Evan Haniger was born on December 23, 1990, in Mountain View, California. He attended Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, where he played baseball and football. In 2009, he was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 23rd round of the MLB draft but chose to attend college instead.

Haniger played college baseball at Cal Poly for three seasons. In his junior year, he led the team in hits, triples, and stolen bases. He was named to the All-Big West First Team and was named a Baseball America All-American.

Professional Career

After the 2012 season, Haniger was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first round of the MLB draft. He made his MLB debut with the Diamondbacks in 2016 and played with the team for three seasons before being traded to the Seattle Mariners in 2017.

With the Mariners, Haniger has become one of the team's most reliable players. He has been named to the MLB All-Star team twice and has won a Gold Glove award. He is known for his power hitting and solid defense.
